“The J2 track design will be totally changed from the J1 lay-out of round two of the Championship last month,” explains Bannan, who has again called in the services of leading supercross track builder, Tom Moss from Tomkaworks. “This time around we will be featuring an elevated start line, with the start gates up about three metres above the track floor, which will only make the charge to the first turn even more exciting. We are also introducing a huge sand section, which will be really long and really deep, and will really sort the men from the boys.”

Between 6,000 and 7,000 tonnes of dirt loam and sand will be utilised in the J2 track construction, with local heavy equipment supplier Finch Earthmoving providing a fleet of 30 tonne excavators, Posi track loaders and semi tippers to assist with the heavy lifting in the track building job. “Giving the riders and fans alike the best possible race track we can is a vital part of every Supercross event we produce,” says Bannan. “When the riders are pumped with the track design, it only helps to make the racing more exciting, which is precisely what the fans come to see. We’re confident the J2 track design will once again make for a thrilling night’s racing as the best riders in the country continue their battle for the 2015 Australian Supercross Championships.

With the 2015 MX Nationals MX2 championship number one plate taking pride of place inside his trophy cabinet, Jay Wilson is getting set to take aim on the fast approaching SX2 category of the 2015 Australian Supercross Championship … albeit with a small ‘detour’ between now and the opening round at Bathurst, NSW, on October 10.

Later this week the 21-year-old Gold Coast ace will jet out to Europe for the first time ever to join countrymen Todd Waters and Dean Ferris to represent Australia at the 2015 Motocross of Nations world teams challenge in Ernee, France, on September 26/27.

The MXoN brings together all the world’s best motocross racers in three-rider national teams and after a stellar 2015 season that has seen him win championships both here in Australia and New Zealand for the Josh Coppins Racing Yamaha team, Wilson can’t wait to turn a wheel in anger on the hallowed turf of the spectacular French circuit.

“I’ve never even been to Europe, so I just can’t wait to get there and get into it,” enthuses Wilson, who will line up at the prestigious event aboard a potent Rinaldi-kitted Yamaha YZ250F race bike.

“Of course I’ve seen photos and videos of the track, and it looks awesome. It looks hard-packed, which I like, so I can’t wait to get there and represent Australia.

“I’m sure the whole atmosphere of the event will be huge and I’m hoping we can bring home a result for Australia to be proud of.”

Immediately after the world teams championship event, Wilson will be back on a plane home to Australia and itching to sink his teeth into the 2015 Australian Supercross Championship, where his goal is to book-end his MX Nationals motocross title with a SX2 Supercross championship.

“2015 has been a heck of a season, with a lot of ups and downs along the way, but we’ve been achieving the goals we’ve set,” says Wilson, who is mentored by JCR Yamaha team boss, New Zealander Josh Coppins, who is one of the world’s most decorated international MX GP racers.

“Josh has been such a massive help this year and has backed me from day-dot this season, giving me a ride with his JCR Yamaha team both in New Zealand and here in Australia.

“We’ve won championships in both countries, which has been just awesome, and along the way I’ve learnt so much as a rider and matured so much as a person, that I just keep looking to the future and what it holds.”

When it comes to this year’s Australian Supercross Championship, there’s no question Wilson is looking to capture another national championship in the SX2 division.

“I can’t wait for Supercross,” Wilson enthuses.

“I’m so looking forward to the new championship and the involvement of the new promoters and the new events. I’m so excited to go racing.

“Supercross is more natural to me (than motocross) and we have already started testing and gaining a base setting for our Supercross race bike. As I soon as I get back from France, we will be full-time into Supercross mode – it should be awesome.”

As a former Australian Under 19s Supercross champion, and with a pair of New Zealand Supercross Championships on his resume, Wilson has serious form on the board and has to be considered a major contender for the SX2 crown in this year’s six round, four-state Australian Supercross Championship chase.

Reigning two-time SX1 champion Matt Moss is back in the saddle of his Team Motul Pirelli Suzuki RM-Z450 race bike and has his sights set on claiming an historic third straight Australian Supercross Championship when the 2015 title roars into life on October 10 at Bathurst, NSW, during the weekend of the Supercheap Auto Bathurst 1000 V8 Supercars race at Mount Panorama.

Moss, 27, has been sidelined from racing since July 19 when he was injured in an accident during the Shepparton, Victoria, seventh round of the 2015 MX Nationals championship.

Scaphoid and knee injuries were some of the most serious of the wounds he suffered, but now, almost eight weeks later, Moss gained the clearance to start riding again earlier this week and has taken to the training tracks with the throttle pinned.

“It feels so good to be back on the bike, awesome!” enthuses Moss, who has ridden both motocross and supercross tracks this week as he fast works back to full fitness.

“I’m feeling really good and have been keeping myself healthy during the time off the bike, so now that I’m riding again, I’m back to 100 percent straight away.

“I’ve already been pounding out the 20 lappers to get ready for Supercross.”

After capturing the SX1 title in 2013, Moss enjoyed a sensational run through last year’s championship, winning every single round to take back-to-back titles and stamp his absolute domination over the Supercross paddock.

“It was just one of those years when everything seemed to click into place,” explains Moss of his 2014 Supercross campaign.

“I felt good going into the championship and knew I had done all my training and my program was solid, so it was great to go through undefeated and get my name in the record books.

“I would love to do that again: when you achieve something once, you want to go and do it again.”

With the announcement of a $120,000 prizemoney pool for this year’s six round championship, and the presence of international stars Gavin Faith and Anthony Rodridguez for the entire series, along with global supercross superstars Chad Reed and James ‘Bubba’ Stewart who will contest round five at Sydney’s Allphones Arena on November 28, Moss agrees the 2015 Australian Supercross Championship is shaping up to be one to remember.

“Any time we can get riders of the calibre of Chad or James to Australia is incredible,” says Moss.

“They are the best riders in the world and the Sydney event is going to be a stand-out, no question about it.

“But the whole series this year is really ramping up,” Moss continues.

“There are international riders at every round and all the promoters are so hungry to make every round a huge success.

“The tracks are going to be awesome and I know the Queensland rounds will both have big USA-style tracks – the racing will be sensational.

“The whole Supercross vibe is really firing up.”

And with that, Moss climbs back in the saddle of his RM-Z to hit the Moss Institute Training Facility’s brand new Supercross training track to throw down another 20 lapper … but gives one final, and perhaps most ominous, comment:

“I’ll be going all-out for Supercross again this year,” Moss offers.

“I won’t be leaving anything on the table, that’s for sure.”
Leading consumer and commercial finance broker Aussie Bike Loans is proud to announce its sponsorship of the two Queensland rounds of the 2015 Australian Supercross Championship.

Leading consumer and commercial finance broker Aussie Bike Loans is proud to announce its sponsorship of the two Queensland rounds of the 2015 Australian Supercross Championship.

Jimboomba, near Beaudesert, on Saturday October 17, and Coolum at the Sunshine Coast, on Saturday November 21, will roar into life with all the sights, sounds and high-flying action of Australia’s premier Supercross championship chase, with Aussie Bike Loans backing both events and continuing a long-running partnership with dirt bike racing in south-east Queensland.

And best of all for competing riders, and in particular all the hard-working privateer racers who make up the bulk of the grid in each championship class, they can benefit directly via generous bonus and cash-back offers of up to $300 across a range of Aussie Bike Loans financial products.

“Aussie Bike Loans have been fabulous supporters of our activities for years, and have helped support numerous riders, including top Queensland racers Brendan Harrison and Robbie Marshall,” explains Scott Bannan from Bannan Corporation, promoter of the Queensland rounds of Supercross.

“The support of Aussie Bike Loans for the two 2015 Australian Supercross Championship rounds is coming in the form of a cash-back offer to all riders that can help cover their event entry fee.

“Any rider who nominates for and contests the Queensland rounds, and who runs an Aussie Bike Loans sticker on their race bike, can then claim an up to $300 cash-back bonus on any settled Aussie Bike Loans or Aussie Car Loans financial product they, their support staff or family, take out now or in the future. What’s more, Aussie Bike Loans generally match or better any other finance deal,” Bannan continues.

“For privateer riders, who often have to finance new race bikes every year, as well as invest in transport infrastructure such as trailers, trucks, utes or vans, this represents the chance to put cash straight back in their pockets, which will be a real benefit where they need it most, all thanks to Aussie Bike Loans.”

In operation since 1996, the Aussie Group, which includes Aussie Bike Loans, Car Loans, Boat Loans, Truck Loans, Equipment Loans, Personal Loans and Leisure Loans, utilises a broad panel of financial lenders to deliver market leading financial products and services.

“Offering this type of support to the people who bring the entertainment to the people, which in this case is the riders in Supercross, is a way of getting our message to the public that there are easier ways of getting the things you desire in life without getting ripped off,” explains Julian Cavanagh, Marketing Director for the Aussie Group.

“Our motto of ‘real people, real results’ is a simple basis for good customer relations and we’re excited that riders and their associates in the sport of Australian Supercross Championship racing will have the opportunity to benefit from the Aussie Group’s competitive rates and personal service.”

The Aussie Group provides consumer and commercial finance broking services nationally, utilising a predominantly web-based service delivery for individual applications that are processed personally by an allocated consultant from the company’s call centre in Loganholme, Queensland.

For further information on all Aussie Bike Loans and Aussie Group financial products and services, please view the www.aussiebikeloans.com.au or www.aussiecarloans.com.au web sites.

As one of the world’s leading manufacturers of high and ultra-high performance tyres, Dunlop is proud to announce it is a major sponsor of the 2015 Australian Supercross Championship.

The partnership will see Dunlop deliver real traction for competitors in the six-round, four-state Australian Supercross Championship chase, which roars into life on Saturday night, October 10, at Bathurst, NSW, during festivities at the V8 Supercars Supercheap Auto Bathurst 1000 at Mount Panorama.

“Dunlop has an extremely proud record of motor sport success right around the world, and we are excited to include the 2015 Australian Supercross Championship as one of our major motorcycle sport sponsorships in Australia,” explains Sabastian Mincone, Motorcycle – Motorsport Manager for Goodyear Dunlop Tyres Australia.

“Dunlop tyres have been winning motorcycle championships around the world since 1949 and it is Dunlop’s extensive racing experience that has seen innovative technologies being utilised in the development of Dunlop tyres for everyday riders and everyday conditions, both on and off the road.”

Of course Dunlop’s expertise in the development of motocross tyre technology needs no explanation.

Dunlop has been the undisputed front runner in the world’s most prestigious Supercross battlefield – the AMA Supercross Series in the USA – for more than 40 years. During that time Dunlop has racked up more AMA Supercross race wins and championship victories than any other tyre brand.

Locally, Dunlop’s long-term sponsorships of the factory-backed CDR Yamaha and KTM Motocross Racing Team squads have kept the Dunlop brand at the front of the pack for decades, with feedback and technical input collected by the teams utilised in the design and manufacture of Dunlop’s motocross tyre range.

“With the range of tracks and venues in this year’s Australian Supercross Championship, from outdoor stadiums and showgrounds to the indoor Allphones Arena in Sydney, getting traction across all surfaces and all conditions will be vital for all Supercross competitors,” says Mincone.

“With the range of Dunlop motocross tyres on offer, from the MX32 tyre for soft to intermediate terrain conditions through to the MX52 for intermediate to hard ground surfaces, Dunlop riders will have the bases covered for all track designs.

“We certainly look forward to celebrating with Dunlop riders on the podium in the 2015 Australian Supercross Championship,” enthused Mincone.

The full range of Dunlop motorcycle tyres are available from leading motorcycle dealerships and tyre retailers in all states of Australia.

// Dunlop Geomax MX32 and MX52 tyre key features:
+ Derived from top-level AMA Supercross and Motocross racing.
+ New tread-block-within-a-block knobs offer more progressive cornering action.
+ Enhanced handling and knob durability via more flex, and less knob tearing through recess-carcass design.
